Lardero Thursday

Today, 23rd of February is a traditional festival in Aragón. Today is "Lardero Thursday".

That celebration means the start of carnival, and people use to eat fried longaniza; this is similar to a sausage, but much more tasty.

The name (lardero) comes from Latin language (Lardarius) and it is refered to pig animal, maybe we are in the time for preparing all meat from the pig (the pig-killing).

If you live in a village is typical to receive for free a small piece of bread with longaniza. It´s distributed at schools, squares.. in different places.

If you haven´t received one of the sandwiches; you are on time to go to a butcher´s and to buy a piece of longaniza...... then simply... ENJOY IT!
