Montse's daily routines

I'm Montse.

I get up at eight o'clock, usually.

After I have for breakfast a coffee with milk and a piece of toast with jam.  I brush my teeth.

I do the housework.  I have a shower, I get dressed, I put on make-up and I comb my hair.

I'm not working now, for this reason I have time for me.

Twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays I have English classes from ten to twelve o'clock. Then I buy food if I need something.

Once a week, on / every Thursdays I have piano classes at half past four /in the afternoon.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the morning I go to the gym and I do pilates, I dance and I swim.

I normally have lunch with my husband.  But sometimes don't, because he has to travel for work. I often have a nap or I watch a film.

I sometimes have a coffee with my friends.

At five o'clock, I go to pick up my daughter from school. We go home and we have a snack.

While she does her homework,  I play the piano, I study English or I read some books.

I prepare dinner and when my husband comes back, we have dinner.  We watch TV and we lie down.

At the Weekends, I usually get up at eight o'clock, too.

We normally go  to a shopping mall, we go for a walk, we are with the family or we have dinner at a restaurant with our friends.

We often go  to the beach or to the mountain.

Bye.

.

  • Hi Chelo!
  • How are you?
  • Great. How are you?
  • How long have you lived in Sidney?
  • Well. I went to Sidney in 2000 because I was an athlete who took part in the Olympic games. But now I work as a tourist guide.
  • Why have you turned out working as a tourist guide?
  • I met my husband, Peter, and I fell in love with him.  He has a travel agency and ...
  • Can you tell us something about Sidney?
  • Of course, it's my job and it's a pleasure to show you around the city.

And now come with me and see these beautiful monuments.
We are in the Sydney Opera House which was built in 1973 and this monument is the symbol of Sydney. The building looks like a sailing boat.
Have you ever listened to any concert here, Chelo?
Yes, of course, I sometimes come here and listen to wonderful music.

Now I'm going to show you another beautiful place.

It's spectacular.  Can you tell us something about it?
It is called Sydney Harbour Bridge and it is famous because it was the first bridge with one of the longest arch in the world.  It was built in 1932.
It is a pleasure to walk along this bridge once in a while.

Now, wait for me because I'm going to change my clothes and I'm going to show you the most ancient neighborhood in Sydney.

Two hours later.

We are in the Rocks. This neighbourhood is the most European one in Sydney.  There are a lot of shops, coffees and restaurants.  Now we are going to have dinner in one of them,  there you can taste the typical food.

And now we travel to Tasmania, which is a island state, part of the Commanwell of Austarlia, located 240 Km to the south of the Australian continent, separeted by Bass Strait.

Funny and little mishaps in travels by Vanesa and Yolanda

Travelling could be a chaotic adventure even if you had thought about all the travel arrangements.

Now, we are going to show you some situations that you could live in your next holidays.

1)  You have to share the train compartment with an unpleasant person.

2) You arrive to the beach and you haven't put on your swimsuit.

3) We are sure  in some occasion you have missed the bus, but Mr. Bean has the solution.

4) It is quite important to walk and sightseeing to enjoy your holidays. If you spend all the time relaxing, at night you could not have a good dream. But there isn't any bed as comfortable as your own bed.

We think for sure that travelling is an adventure, so when you start a travel not only unfortunate mishaps could happen, you could also be wonderfully lucky.  We want to share with you some beautiful stories about travelling. These stories are about love, money and health.

LOVE AROUND THE WORLD

The protagonists in this story are Edna and Mike. She is a girl who promised herself she would travel around the world during her youth.

But she met Mike on November 2010 when she was moving to a new flat on the 44th floor of a wonderful and antique building in Singapore and Mike was going to be one of her new flatmates next month because he was a British IT manager and he was working there.
They got on well and they had feelings each other from the first sight since they were so compatible.
So they travelled to China, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam but when they came back Singapore, she wanted to keep her promise and she went alone to Australia for 5 weeks and then she moved to Paris, where Mike surprised her proposing marriage to her.
They would get married when she came back and they could stay together again.

Routines by Juan

Hello all!

I usually wake up at half past seven, I make breakfast: a coffee and a piece of toast with oil for me, and a glass of milk with cereals for my daughter, we brush our teeth, then we prepare to go walking to school while Ana, my girlfriend, goes to work. When I return home if it's Monday or Wednesday, I have English class.
Many weeks I work in shifts, then when I need it,  I have to tell my parents-in-laws to pick up my daughter from school and eat together at their house.

I go to work by car and I start working, after two hours usually I eat while working, at the end of my shift I take a coffee and I return home. I go to sleep depending on the shift I have that week.

Also during the day I make the housework:  iron clothes,  go to buy food, clean the house and sometimes cook.

Every day I help my daughter with her homework.  I'm sure I don't remember everything about my daily routine but I think that's enough.

I say goodbye.

The Way of St. James was one of the most important Christian pilgrimages during medieval times, together with Rome and Jerusalem, and a pilgrimage route on which a plenary indulgence could be earned;
The Way can take one of any number of pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. Traditionally, as with most pilgrimages, the Way of Saint James began at one's home and ended at the pilgrimage site. However a few of the routes are considered main ones. During the Middle Ages, the route was highly traveled. However, the Black Death, the Protestant Reformation and political unrest in 16th-century Europe led to its decline. By the 1980s, only a few pilgrims per year arrived in Santiago. Later, the route attracted a growing number of modern-day pilgrims from around the globe. The route was declared the first European Cultural Route by the Council of Europe in October 1987; it was also named one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.
Two versions of the most common myth about the origin of the symbol concern the death of Saint James, who was martyred by beheading in Jerusalem in 44 CE. According to Spanish legends, he had spent time preaching the gospel in Spain, but returned to Judaea upon seeing a vision of the Virgin Mary on the bank of the Ebro River.[5][6]
Version 1: After James's death, his disciples shipped his body to the Iberian Peninsula to be buried in what is now Santiago. Off the coast of Spain, a heavy storm hit the ship, and the body was lost to the ocean. After some time, however, it washed ashore undamaged, covered in scallops.[citation needed]
Version 2: After James's death his body was mysteriously transported by a crewless ship back to the Iberian Peninsula to be buried in what is now Santiago. As the ship approached land, a wedding was taking place on shore. The young groom was on horseback, and on seeing the ship approaching, his horse got spooked, and horse and rider plunged into the sea. Through miraculous intervention, the horse and rider emerged from the water alive, covered in seashells.[citation needed]
