WHERE DO I WANT TO LIVE? GUESS IT!
I live in a big city, many people live here. This city is very famous all around the world.
I live in the centre of the city. In front of my house it is the Public Library, it is very big and has appeared in many movies.
If you go to the right and walk two blocks, you can see the grand central station, it is very high and bright.
Now you go back to the starting point and you continue straight ahead this Avenue along eight blocks, then on your right you will see a famous church and its holy day is in March.
Next to the church it is the biggest shopping centre, there if you go up to the top of the building you will see the best panoramic viewpoint of the city and if you go down, on the ground you will skate on ice.
Near this shopping center there are the TV studio offices, famous for everyone who follows series as for example: Friends, Emergency, V, Miami Vice, ….
By the way, if you go out to have a walk and you take the Avenue again and you continue straight ahead along eight blocks, you will see the biggest park in the city called: The Lung of the City. Its shape is rectangular and its measures are 4,000 meters x 800 meters.
That’s all!!!

IN WHAT CITY DO YOU THINK I WANT TO LIVE? IT IS VERY EASY.

TASK: IN A TOWN/CITY
Hello students,
Through this new task, we are going to ask for directions, to describe your neighbourhood, to know the main buildings in a city, to design a leaflet with tourist information, to use the modals being polite, to describe your way home, to suggest any excursion and of course to work with a list of useful expressions and vocabulary about the subject.
Here you are the tasks, choose one of them and work on it:
1.- Descibe giving directions the way you use to walk or drive going from the Adult Centre to your house. Could you guess where does he/she live? Could you give the name of the street where he/she lives?
2.- You have just arrived at La Puebla de Alfindén and you need to go to the doctor, but you don't know how to get there. Ask a person where exactly is it. Give as many explanations as you can. Choose any starting point and build a dialogue in a polite way.
3.- Make a list of useful expressions and questions to ask and answer for directions.
4.- Name and give a little description of the main buildings and services we have here in La Puebla de Alfindén. Imagine you have been asked to prepare a tourist information leaflet.
5.- Write some praragraphs about your neighbourhood. You can compare the way of living in a village and in a big city, your relationship with your neighbours or whatever you want.
6.- Suggest any excursion starting from La Puebla de Alfindén to let us know some pictoresque and interesting place full of local colour. Give explanations about how to get there on foot or by car.
Remember you will have to explain your tasks to the rest of the class as a speaking activity.
All the best,
Loli
