Life is a
basic fundamental right.
What a beautiful phrase! Life is a
basic fundamental right.
When I ask those around me or I
read articles about the death penalty, I notice there is a lot of controversy about
it.
We think that countries that have
instituted the capital punishment are in development or are countries with authoritarian governments, but The United States or Japan, don't fit in this
profile.
The Capital punishment is used as
exemplary, saves costs to society and many people still feel that "Whoever
makes it, will pay for it" is the best measure of justice. But reading the Amnesty
International report on its last statistics
about that, it concludes that this solution is not persuasive, crime doesn’t
stop and follows at the same level.
I think the debate is not if it
should be abolished or not. Moreover, I believe that there should be no
discussion, because life is a basic fundamental right and everyone, even the
most evil of all evils, deserves a second opportunity.
Then, where is the problem? Always, everything is easier than it looks…..
