REPORT: TRIPS IN THE UK BY PILAR GARCÍA

TRIPS IN THE UK                    by Pilar García

  INTRODUCTION

The aim of this report is to assess student satisfaction with the four-week study trips to the UK and to know their opinion about the problems they had and to make suggestions for improving the trips.

   ACCOMMODATION / HOUSING

Most of the students were satisfied with the housing they had chosen. We believe people who lived with families were happier than people who lived in the residence, because they were able to speak more. It would be far preferable for students to live with a family.

    SCHOOL AND CLASSES

In general, students rated the school and classes very highly. Their main criticisms were the duration of the classes. They lasted six hours a day, and some students thought that it was too much. Almost everyone complained about lunch because there wasn´t a lot of dishes to choose.
We propose more time for having lunch or smaller classes as well as to reduce the hours of classes, instead of other activities.

   CULTURAL PROGRAMMES

In general, students were not very keen on some weekend cultural programmes. Trips to London and Oxford were great, but trips to Bath and Strafford were boring . We strongly recommended enjoying more free time for shopping or been able to choose more interesting trips for students.

   CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Overall, the majority of students are extremely positive about the trips and feel that if the suggested changes are implemented, it will be an even better experience for them.
